Knee Sleeves Guide
Why Use Knee Sleeves?
Knee sleeves provide warmth, mild compression, and proprioceptive feedback. They keep the knee joint warm during training, potentially reducing injury risk during high-volume squatting and providing comfort for lifters with minor knee issues.
Sleeves vs Wraps
Sleeves are slip-on neoprene that provide moderate support. Wraps are long elastic bands wrapped tightly for maximum support - they're more restrictive and typically used in competition for extra carryover. Most gym lifters prefer sleeves.
Thickness & Fit
5mm sleeves: lighter, better for higher reps and general training. 7mm sleeves: standard for powerlifting, more support and warmth. Size should be snug - you may need help getting them on.
Care & Maintenance
Wash regularly (inside out, cold water, air dry) to prevent odor and bacterial growth. Never machine dry. With proper care, quality sleeves last 2-4 years of regular use.
